Bad News Blogfest Update! - October 2nd

If you've just hopped out of Karen G's blog BBQ party - to cool off - welcome to my blog and why not party some more by joining this blogfest. It's a fun way to enjoy and share your writing!

Quick Update: this blogfest is extended to 3rd Oct due to Tessa's (see sidebar) also on 2nd Oct!

I simply couldn't resist holding my own blogfest!

I've enjoyed participating in wonderful blogfests, have met fabulous fellow writers and this is my way of saying thanks to all those who have already held a blogfest.
I think it's fair to say we've all experimented in writing out of our comfort zones in search of a genre that best suits our ideal for a successful novel, so why not for a blogfest!

There are no rules as such, the criteria that of "emotional impact"

At some time or another, I expect you've all had to convey bad news to someone else, maybe to do with a pet, a relative, maybe even lover.  Hence, this "Bad News Blogfest" is not about personal misery, it is to be about a character receiving bad news!

It can be written in any genre, any POV, any means of delivery i.e.
letter, e-mail, text, phone, verbal, whatever, and up to 1000 words.

There are no prizes because I could not bear the idea of having to choose a winner!

You can sign up as soon as and I'll post a reminder a few days beforehand. Thanks for reading and I hope you'll join in this blogfest.

Hi,

Crikey Michelle, you beat me to it with a post!

I'm doing this so that I can link a poster directly to the comment page!

Just an FYI I'll post your blogfest up on my side bar and I'm signed up for your and the other one as well so we shall see how it plays out :) I'm excited your holding a blogfest! great fun!

Sweet! I love Blogfests. Don't know if I have anything ready though. I'm having my first one too, a Blogfeast, on Sep 23. So exciting!

Also, for some insane reason I must have filled up the form with "Bad News" instead of blog name..hellp! How do I correct it?

Unknown said...

Hey no worries! We could always tell people they get brownie points for submitting one piece that fits both.. ; )

Francine Howarth said...

Hi Damyanti,

I did similar once, it made no difference. People still came to see what I'd posted.

Hi Tessa,

Yup, Brownie points issued - good idea. ;)

As you can see, I've extended over to the Sunday as well so that might ease the situation.

Hey there Francine, I'll be back to check out all these blogfests I've been too busy to join, but the purpose of my visit is to tell you that you are henceforth a star, so pop over to my blog and grab a starry award before it turns to stardust...hee hee, I'm a crack up, not..:) Just ate some coconut ice...ooo...sugar!

Francine, I just realised I can do your blogfest on my other blog, so I have signed up again using my Amloki-links blog. Hope that's ok, and is there any way to delete my previous signing up, aka, "Bad News"?

Sorry to be such a gigantic pain!

I'm too worn out from my own crazy party to sign up for another one right away. Maybe next time LOL. I already follow you but thought I'd drop in and say hi Francine!

N. R. Williams said...

I signed up and found you because you found me from the BBQ. I will be finding more folks as well.

About the blogfest. Now that I have signed up, kindly tell me what I do. I know I write, but where do I submit it and do I submit it on Oct. 3rd. Never done one before.

Hi, N.R.,

What you do is post your writing on your blog either on the 2nd or 3rd and other participants will come and read it and comment. It's as easy as that!

Okay, so tonight I was a total computer illiterate doofus. Anybody clicking on the link "Bad News" is actually getting Wendy Tyler Ryan's blog - Sorry Francine, sorry everyone else, I'm used to just hitting a button and I didn't know what it wanted from me!!! :(

Wendy Tyler Ryan said...

So, couldn't stand the idea of my name showing up as "Bad News" so I entered again under my proper name. Sorry all around because some of you will end up at my blog twice.

Francine Howarth said...

Hi Wendy,

Good to have you aboard, and as you can see I scrubbed "Bad News" from the ship's log! :)

Hi Francine,

I'm in! Logistics question: Do we get the html code to imbed the follow list in our post or do we direct people here to your post to see who to follow next?

Francine Howarth said...

Hi Liz,

Re logistics! It's easier to direct to this page than go to the faff of embedding html code.
